Project Spotlight: Handmade In-Frame Kitchen in East Suffolk
There’s something truly special about a kitchen that feels completely personal to the home it belongs in, and this recent project in East Suffolk was exactly that. Designed and handcrafted to our client’s exact specifications, this in-frame kitchen is the epitome of traditional charm, practical family living and exceptional craftsmanship.
Inspired by Traditional Craftsmanship
The journey began when our client was inspired by the handmade, in-frame kitchen displayed in our Suffolk showroom, and wanted to recreate the same feel within their own home. From the very beginning, the focus was on creating a space that felt light, welcoming and beautifully tailored to the way the family lives.
Creating the Perfect Layout
We began with structural modifications to improve the flow and functionality of the room. By repositioning the doorway, we were able to completely transform the layout, creating a brighter and more open space with a more central dining area.
Crafting begins in our Suffolk Workshop
While our building team were carrying out the structural work, our skilled carpenters were busy handcrafting the kitchen cabinetry in our workshop. To create continuity between spaces, we crafted matching alcove units for the adjoining sitting area, tying the whole interior together seamlessly
“The joinery team doing our kitchen were outstanding and able to make tweaks and minor changes which really added to the details and overall look of the kitchen.”
Thoughtful Finishes, Timeless Details
The entire kitchen was painted in the client’s chosen colour, Joa’s White by Farrow & Ball, creating a soft and elegant backdrop for the space. The worktops are a stunning quartz supplied by Artscut Surfaces in Calacatta Gold, adding both luxury and durability to the design. Light oak-effect flooring by Karndean completed the warm, natural aesthetic. To complete the room, we also handcrafted a complementary dining table, creating the perfect place for family meals and gatherings.

Before
After
A Brighter, More Social Space
The finished result is a bright, elegant kitchen that feels both spacious and welcoming, a dramatic transformation from the dark kitchen that existed before.
Why House to Home?
When asked what made them choose House to Home over other renovation companies, our client explained that it was our ability to manage both the structural work and the bespoke kitchen design under one roof that gave them confidence in the project from the start.
“Having met Ryan in the showroom and Ross later, they gave us the confidence that they could accommodate our requirements and didn’t seem fazed by our specific needs, which were quite detailed and lengthy.”
The feedback from family and friends has been overwhelmingly positive, with many complimenting both the dramatic transformation and the thoughtful design features.
“Having moved the door and made the table more central to the room, it has made the room feel like a bigger space. The whole room is lighter and brighter, which is exactly what we wanted to achieve.”
The Greatest Compliment of All?
“We have already spoken about a possible bathroom refurbishment and would not hesitate to use House to Home again.”
We’re incredibly proud to have brought this beautiful project to life. It’s always rewarding to create spaces that not only look stunning but genuinely improve how our clients use and enjoy their homes.
