Bathroom and Kitchen Renovation in Mellis
Having recently moved into a beautiful converted barn in the heart of the Suffolk countryside, our clients asked us to transform initially their bathroom, and then kitchen, into spaces that complemented the character of the property while offering modern comfort and functionality. In the bathroom, we made full use of the generous proportions and vaulted ceilings, incorporating a spacious shower enclosure, freestanding bath, bespoke vanity and WC unit, and practical built-in storage. Soft Green Calypso furniture, chrome Roper Rhodes fittings, Light Worn Oak Karndean flooring and Darlington Stone Gloss tiles created a warm, elegant finish perfectly suited to the rural setting.
The kitchen was designed around the family’s passion for cooking and entertaining, with a spacious U-shaped layout providing generous worktop space, intelligent storage and an effortless flow through the room. A breakfast bar creates a natural place for casual dining and socialising, while a Bosch integrated dishwasher and the clients’ existing ILVE range cooker were seamlessly incorporated into the design. A dedicated tea and coffee station beside the original fireplace adds another thoughtful touch, resulting in a beautifully balanced kitchen that combines practicality, craftsmanship and timeless design.
